Polyester offers the greatest durability and is recommended for extremely windy areas. Its open weave and heavy weight make it ideal for very windy areas but doesn't allow it to fly as well as the lighter weight nylon. Cotton offers the traditional look and rich, vibrant colors coveted by many homeowners.

This was not originally a flag but appeared as a political cartoon before the Revolution. It first appeared in Ben Franklin's newspaper in May, 1754 and spread to other newspapers.
This flag was presented by George Washington and Massachusetts Governor John Hancock to the only all black military unit of the American Revolution. They were volunteer "freemen of color" and were presented this flag for valor during a ceremony toward the end of the War.
